"Hello, there! This is Flora. I'm not here right now, but if you would like to leave a message, I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Until then, thanks for your call, and have a wonderful day!"
Hey, Kido! I have a room in the apartments, but I don't stay there all the time. I usually end up sleeping in this one building where I do my all my experiments, and other things.
It's not too far, but I can come bring you here, if you like, if you wanted to come, or I can meet you at your place, if that's what you wanted?
[ set a little after this. piper remembers that flora's the type to flaunt and openly appreciate her magic, and it's her that she feels most comfortable coming to with her actual admission. perhaps she can help — give her a bit of guidance and a lesson on how to appreciate said magic. but it's unfortunate that piper doesn't have a crystal and map to scry for flora's location ... ]
Flora! It's Piper Halliwell. Had a bit of a magic problem and I figured that it's time for me to come clean with something you probably already knew about.
Speaking of magic, hope yours is keeping you well-hidden. Haven't heard from you in a while and I'm a little worried. You're usually almost everywhere.
[11:45. Well she... tried really hard not to worry but things lately haven't put her in a peaceful mindset.]
having fun? you can stay out later if you want. i'm just checking up on you. i was going to make some hot chocolate for us when you got back so i figured it'd be good to know when you're coming back right? cold hot chocolate is just
Hahah, don't you think recordings are amazing? In a way, they're kind of like time travel! Sorry, that isn't right: they're the opposite of time travel. Or would it be the travelling of a moment into the future while staying the same moment in the past?
Wait, that doesn't matter. Regardless, I smile thinking of the moment you recorded this when we were still subject to the day cycle of our mutual friend and my adversary Mother Earth.
Violence is part of nature too, you know. It's part of life! Nature's life is fertilized by the violence of those who are part of it. Well, some might say that animals are better than humans because animals only kill out of hunger or self-defence, but we know that isn't true at all. For example, orcas love to kill young seals just for the sport of it. Personally, I respect the Delphinidae with all of my heart, or at least half of it.
Do you recall my young sibling Rail? Once, when he and Frank and I were on the coast, we were able to meet several dolphins. Frank was very frightened of them, but I think they were more frightened of him! Of course, then Liza had to be a spoilsport as always and interrupt our games to go do our job, but afterwards we came back and tried to give the remains to the dolphins. It was rejected. It broke my heart. Rail pointed out that they probably wanted to play with living meat instead of dead meat, so he used the bombs to give them something fun to chase after.
It's fun doing unnecessary things. So it's fun to kill people outside of need. It's even more fun to follow your whims. You've only killed because you had to. That makes you even better than most natural things. Congratulations on surpassing the natural world! But I think that Nature will still accept you, even if you are a more moral person than She is. That's part of the infinite love She has for you. I, too, will accept you infinitely.
Oh, but don't get your hopes up: I'm not attracted to nature fairies.
This winter hush is also part of Nature's cycle. Even though it saddens me to see so many flowers die, you can't spend all your time mourning the inevitable! Those are things you have to let go. Doubtless, some people will say that the flowers are just sleeping until the next year. I don't want to worry about that. Rather, I'd like to look at the flowers that blossom in winter. I would like to get off the moon and find many varieties of them.
Christmas will be coming in a month, so keep an eye out for Santa's magic. We can't have anyone else breaking the laws of science around here!
[A handwritten letter arrives for Flora. The writing is flowing but legible cursive, but the writer periodically switches between red and green ink, and it is decorated with drawings of flowers.
It's a Christmas greeting, all right.]
Flora,
You are most cordially invited to a celebration of family, friendship, forgiveness, and estrangement on December 17th from 3:00PM, or earlier, until whenever we feel like stopping, at [the address for the warehouse]. This season mustn't pass by without a grand affair full of of food and gift-giving, in the best of Christmas traditions.
Oh, but you don't have to bring gifts. There won't be any set gift-giving time. Besides, do you really want to give your friends presents so early? It's far better to make them wait until the 25th. Patience is an important quality to learn for the winter months. Of course, I'll prepare the food, unless you wish to contribute some. Please keep any amount of arsenic in food below fatal levels for human children!
In the spirit of Christmas and all ritualistic holidays designed to prepare communities for defence against a harsh winter of dangerous weather and low quantities of food, you are invited to bring anyone you feel like. While more people is a greater strain on resources, the contribution of any individual to the group balances that out with the warmth and love provided. Let's gather together and avoid a cruel death in the months to come.
Oh, but don't make excuses to protect my feelings. That would be quite a cowardly thing to do, and you don't think I'm that stupid, do you?
Hoping for your presence and survival, your friend, Christopher Chareau de Red
[post is here, tag in at your leisure or handwave or excuse yourself however you like!]
[At some point between the beginning of the 24th and the end of the 25th, Christopher delivers (handed off in person or left at a doorstep) a Christmas gift: coal a book of Christmas traditions. Actual, legitimate Christmas traditions from all over. Not bullshit ones he made up. It's an eBook, of course. SAVE THE TREES.]
[ under the christmas tree in the dansion, there will be a small box with flora's name on it. inside will be a blouse, a skirt, and a coat with a note: Thank you for doing so much for not only myself, but for the Dan, as well! :) - Kaede ]
Subject: idk your dan number but it's mission time Message:
Flora, this is going to be a long-term project so if you think you're going to be busy and you can't do it I want to put it out there now that that's totally fine.
But Kido and I decided you're our best bet for this so I wanted to ask you this: Do you want to help decorate for Momo's birthday party next month? It's a mission. We're tying to get as much of the dan (+more) in on this as possible because Momo's never had friends to celebrate her birthday with but she's got plenty here now.
Please respond to this message with your acceptance or declination.
[Walter has never spoken with Flora before, so unless she has browsed the network and come across one of his transmissions, his voice is bound to be a new one. He's one of the few Transports that speaks with a genuine English accent, for starters.]
This is Walter C. Dornez. We've never spoken, but Saul Goodman tells me that growing things is a speciality of yours. I'm trying to get a greenhouse put together to expand the area's food supply, and I expect there are some that would be grateful for your assistance.
[He can grow things, but it isn't exactly a speciality of his. Furthermore, he's not exactly the friendliest or most trusted of persons around. Having someone else run the finished arrangement would be for the best.]
[ One of the ruddy hawks of the Southern Greenwood alights on a nearby window, branch or stone, screeching and flapping its wings. It has sharp eyes, like all from the Maechenibryth, but waits patiently to have the small scroll attached to its foot unravelled. It reads in looping Drabbish:
Invitation for Lady Flora and Companion to the winter Yule festivities within I Othrann-in-Heneb, fortress of Thranduil Oropherion, Elvenking of the Maechenibryth.
To celebrate the holiday of the native Aelfen clans, all guests are welcome to remain within the mountainhome until from 25th December until early January for music and merriment. Bed and board provided. Please bring this invitation with you and make your way south along the forest river where marchwardens will find your party and act as escorts. To confirm attendance, please attach an appropriate message to the hawk. Alternatively, contact Thranduil via locket.
The hawk, if needed, will await a snack along with the RSVP before flying off. ]

If she's never had one, then it's important that her first be something good to remember.
You're a good brother for wanting to make sure she has one.
