"Hello, there! This is Flora. It seems I'm not here right now, but if you would like to leave a message, I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Until then, thank you for getting in touch, and have a wonderful day!"
[ A raven would wing its way to your character, delivering the following message, folded into a small envelope around a simple red metal ring. ]
Shardbearer. Hero of the drabwurld.
I entreat you humbly to meet with me, that I may beg your might and skill upon an errand to cleans this world of a lingering malignance: Reynard the Fox.
Underway are plans to root out the dangers of his malice; but required still are a few trustworthy champions of strength enough to defend against his fell strength.
Should you be interested in undertaking this task, with all its risks, you need only slip on the enclosed ring. Doing so shall teleport you to my location, near Nimh Gleane, outside a local establishment, 'The Barrel'.
(( ooc: this is an invitation to engage in the metaplot, because your character was noted for their deeds of might and heroism by other characters! Details on the plot can be found here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1rOcZBDabcn0Ua8_XP8DSWA-FoHmd5UPsC-D35xdtqaM/edit#heading=h.6jee34k677bi Should your character be interested, simply PM us at this account with a link to your thread starter in Waver Velvet's Barrel log! ))
Your presence is requsted at the Barrel on 3 January, at or around 10 pm. We will be closing early to allow for a question and answer session with Alyosha regarding past and present events and for general information sharing. Treat this invitation with discretion.
Please respond to this message so that we might have a headcount of who to expect.
Come 25 November, there are two packages for Flora. The first contains two tea cups, not unlike those at the Barrel, delicately painted with vivid green vines. The second contains a cloak pin, made not of metal but of study vinewood, with two flowers (real ones, bright pink, ever in boom) on each end.
The attached note reads,
Flora--
You have given me much this year, and I am glad to have you as an ally, confidant, and dare I say friend. I hope that the tea cups serve you well, and that the cloak pin helps to ward off the cold.
It's a living thing, so set it in water when you aren't using it. It'll thank you.
[ SANTA-SAN CAME BY. a little after Flora delivers her present, she'll find a small package outside her door with a letter tucked within the ribbon. next to the package is a small bouquet of hellebores (the only flower he could find immediately that bloomed in the cold weather) delicately tied with a red ribbon. the letter reads: ]
Flora,
You have no idea how much it means to me that you're my friend. You're an amazing person who's done so much, and everyday I'm learning something new about you that I think is amazing, I couldn't ask for a better friend and comrade in this place. I also really appreciate you being friends with Zelos when he was here. He's a handful but he's a great person once you get past how annoying he can be and I'm glad you saw that.
I heard about this holiday called Christmas from someone on the network, and I heard that Yule was pretty much the same thing. It's weird that two different worlds have holidays that are almost the same. I hope you like my present to you. It was a little rushed since I was making another present that took a while. If it breaks or anything, just let me know. I'll fix it in a snap.
Thanks again for being my friend. Happy Yule.
-Lloyd I.
P.S.: We should race one day!
[ there's a pair of wings doodled next to the PS message, as though he's implying that they should race with their wings. in the box she'll find a metal flower pendant held on a delicate chain. Despite how stylized it looks, it's very light and the chain is reinforced so that it won't break as easily as it looks like it would. ]
[ Delivered in a small bone-white box topped with a sprig of mistletoe is a pair of delicate-looking earrings, which look like a few miniatiarized golden-framed mirrors set on different lengths of fine chain.
And a folded note. ]
Hello Flora!
This is my Yule gift to you! They're earrings; dark gold, to match your hair! If you take them off and set them against a wall, the mirrors will grow weightlessly to real-size. You can take off one earring, set it on a wall, and go anywhere else in the drabwurld, do the same with the other... the mirrors act as portals; you and friends can easily just step through them to go from the place one earring is to where the last was, quick as a blink.
Thank you so much for all you've done! Linnaea Réultbhuíon
[Doop doop, delivery on the 25th. Flora's not actually sure where this is going, only that she charms it to get there. Alongside a delicately wrapped package is a card that is green and red, with touches of gold dust, and of overall excellent quality, with a shimmering bow in the front. The writing in the card is written in an elegant, but still very legible cursive.]
Dearest Linnaea, my favourite fellow flowery namesake,
I've only just come to learn of these Winter holidays, so I hope that I have not been remiss in the process or ceremony, but I very much wanted to give you a gift. You deserve so many good things, and it is my hope that you might be able to count some of these among them.
The circumstances of our meeting were what they were, but I am very glad to have met you for them. You're a kind, brave, thoughtful, intelligent, and lovely lady, and I am so very happy to know and be friends with you.
I wish you the best holiday and happy days going forward.
Sincerely, Flora
P.S. I hope being away from sea has made dealing with your hair easier, but even so, I'd be more than happy to do it again, sometime!
[Signed with a fancy signature that has a flower next to her name, which will materialise into an actual one because she's a nerd like that.
In the very elegant box are sets of silk ribbons, a pair of combs with linnaea flowers attached at the ends, and jewelled hair clips.]
[The present is set at her door on the 24th, finely wrapped. The note is simple, written in a nice calligraphy.]
Dear Miss Flora,
You have safeguarded that which is most precious to me. I ask that you take this token, and its history as that which has been passed down through my family since we first became united with the name Devereux, as thanks only for your friendship, for there is nothing I could give that could repay the debt I owe you.
Yours Sincerely, Dorian Gray
[Set in a small box is an old ring, passed down for generations through the family, that was on Dorian's hand at his arrival.]

TIME FOR SOME BACKTAAAGGING video on the 25th because thats when you open gifts shes a good girl
[ The letter itself is written in clear, Celtic style lettering while the signature is in a different hand -- Lancelot had this transcribed. The seal is official, however, and if she has any doubts Lancelot will confirm it was him who sent it. ]
Marshal Lancelot to Lady Flora;
You will recall a month or so ago now it was discussed that a research project into Drabwurld magic would be beneficial. Lord Kayneth El-Melloi and yourself suggested it, and I have taken the liberty of including Lady Hermione. I hope you will not think me bold. Attached is a key to a room which has been set up and warded for use in testing such things, and supplies will be provided. Additionally, Kaldur and Dorian Gray are doing a little research at the moment -- although the long term project will belong to yourself, Lord Kayneth and Lady Hermione.
I hope it of use.
If you have the time, I have a favour of sorts to ask. Forgive me for doing so on the heels of something else. It is best discussed in private, so when you have time let me know.

video ....a while after she gets it cause lancelot is eh on the priority scale NO J/K its immediate
[It's the new year, and to be their first conversation of it, and so she greets him with a brilliant smile, hopefully a great way to kick it off, even things are going to inevitably get Serious.]
Happy New Year to you, Field Marshall Lancelot. [There's no disrespect in the tone because, of course, there would never be, but she sounds just a mite playful as she says his title.]
I received your letter. That was you who sent it, right?
[Listen you can't be too careful with these things.]
[ While difficult to locate, Rin opts to use a familiar made of minerals instead of a possessed one in order to track down Flora. Being able to withstand harsh conditions, the amethyst owl delivers a package once visual confirmation has been received by Rin. While it doesn't make noise, it's quick to leave as soon as it had arrived.
The package is simple. Wrapped up inside is a compass with a note that explains it's a gift and upon first use, Flora will be able to tell who all has received one as well. There is no identifying information beyond that. ]
OOC | Now it's time for the copy/pasta. Alyosha commissioned Rin to make enchanted items to act as a new communication device for certain individuals. In the form of a compass that flips open, the design is unique to each character (of your own choosing, of course) and could be as old as you like. Some could have possibly come from outside the Drabwurld. No compass is alike in appearance, therefore if seen it might be difficult to tell who could be contacted with it. A brief blurb on this can be found here under Jorōgumo as well as a list of individuals who have access to this communication network at any given time.
[This is the first source Waver can think of, and god help him if Flora catches on to why he's asking, all the better for the Seelie to end the goddamn Jabberwock.]
[...There's actually something else she wants to and has wanted to ask him for a while, but this comes first.
And she's not sure she has the courage to, besides.
There's a flicker of guilt and she looks askance for a moment, which is great and well-timed for a conversation like this, but she's looking at him, again.]
So. It wasn't mine, and I have no intention of giving it up to the monarchs.
[ A bone charm is dropped off, the seagull impatiently hopping around Flora's window until she takes both it and the note on its leg off before squawking, looking around for food, and flying off. ]
Flora-
This charm will work as a communication device. It, my shrines, or sea life can all reach me.
Flora's gift is very simple this year: a very pretty flower pin, to be worn as she pleases. She also gets two tickets to come see a show on the Winter Stage with him in January.
[The next day, there's another. Flowers again, a huge bouquet, one that practically has to be held with both arms around it. It's also enchanted never to fade, but the trouble is...it's drenched in blood.]
[To go for the obvious route and simply buy Flora even more flowers would be all but useless. It wouldn't be enough. It wouldn't mean enough, so Gilgamesh has opted for a different gift this holiday. Inside the small package resting on her bed is a silver necklace, with pretty chain links and emerald droplets, the color of the plants she so adores.
The emeralds are deceptive, however. There's a drop of something else contained within each of them, that something being his own blood. No greater gift from a Servant exists; no greater bond can be achieved. It is the highest form of trust and the most sacred magic, that which he's given her.
The note attached reads as follows:]
As you have done for me, so I have done for you. In times of peril, call upon the power instilled within this necklace. The King of Heroes, who has bled to make this gift, shall aid you in battle.
Will we see more of each other soon? Shall I rise here, within this Citadel, and stand alongside you? I hope you can see me -- the me that truly shines -- soon enough.
[The note is signed with a simple cursive G.]
June 20th or so? letter left for her in some cute place in the kitchen, let's just say
For the consideration of Flora, The Dancing Reaper:
It has come to my attention that the owner of the home I've been rooming in [he's not doing anything bad] is none other than yourself. I would first like to extend my sincere apologies, for entering without obtaining permission from you to do so. The golden Servant is exceptionally persuasive and does as he pleases; no doubt you know it already, but as I have no other excuse, I will unfortunately have to blame this.
If it is acceptable, though, I would also like to ask if I may contribute anything in return for my continued residence in your home. I am in Leathann without a place to sleep and I do not have much money to my name. Gilgamesh is the only friend I have. I traveled to Leathann a week ago to heal sufferers of the silver sickness, and I find Leathann is where I would like to stay to support the Seelie cause, for the moment.
I don't wish to inconvenience you or your beautiful home, but I make this request so that I can best serve the people of Leathann. Until I gain the funds to reimburse you, you may count on my loyalty.
With regards, Kirei Kotomine

[Once Diarmuid has finished the shrines and taken Nichol and Nessa back to their home, he settles down not far from the shrine in his training grounds to let Flora know the task she gave him is done. Since he's not sure where she is currently, he figures a quick message is probably the best way to get in touch with her.]
I don't know if you have gotten to see the shrine I set up in the White Citadel, but there are two more like it now. One in Caer Glaem...
[He turns the locket to show the shrine next to him.]
...and one in Leathann. I hope they are to your liking.
I do not know if you are busy, or if you're finished with your business yet, but I thought to contact you all the same. I hope it's all right. I am seeking donations for the people of Leathann. Any monetary help you could provide would be going to a good cause.
