Quest Board

Flora is a Marchioness of White Citadel and Voice of the Sisterhood of Nymphs, and so her priorities are numerous and widespread. That's it. That's the intro.
QUESTS ARE CURRENTLY: CLOSED!
STARS REMAINING FOR THE MONTH: 0
Questants can (1) choose from the pre-written quests below, and the request (after claiming) must be filled out here. Once a quest is given, we have to thread out the assigning of the quest, and you will also have to give an IC report of the completion of the quest. As per the rules, one/two star quests must be completed in 30 days upon assignment (for 1-2 star quests only!) barring extenuating circumstances that will be decided per mod discretion.
All quest rewards come with your choice of flower bouquet or potted plant. Possibly and.
✮ LEATHANN ✮
#1 Claimed by
babbylon
Quest Rank: ✮ ✮ ✮
Slots available: One.
Description: As sisters of the skies and winds, and wielders of great magic, the sylphs help in raising Leathann could be invaluable. Could be, if the sisterhood as a whole did not care for shardbearers right now. See what you can do to alleviate that and gain their favour.
Requirements: Either threaded or written as a narrative, submit a minimum of 4.5k words of your character travelling to Leathann. You must interact with at least two PCs, and are free to create your own NPCs. Some mod npc-ing will be available as needed!
Reward: A magical, decorative set of pan pipes as a token of favour from the Sisterhood, the promise of their aid in the raising of Leathann in some way (which may result in learning something, too), 50 marks and a homemade cake with your flavour of choice from Flora.
#2 Claimed by
girlwiththegoldengun
Quest Rank: ✮ ✮
Slots available: One.
Description: As sisters of the waters, the naiads may be of tremendous help in the preservation of Leathann. They could help free the island, and provide support if the raising proves a success, as well as regulate the water if and once Leathann is raised, to name some things.
One problem, though: more pollutants find their way into the waters around Leathann as sea travel increases. The naiads, normally very gregarious and friendly are growing angry and bitter at the mistreatment of the sea, and other, less forgiving sea dwelling beings have taken to outright violence whenever possible. The naiads also aren't very keen on shardbearers, right now.
Requirements: Either threaded or written as a narrative, write 3k accomplishing the objective. Do what you can to research methods for cleaning up the ocean; and ask of the naiads what you might do to appease them. As a two star quest, there may be npcing as needed!
Reward: A crystal sand dollar to be given as a token of the naiads' favour, the promise of aid in Leathann affairs, 30 marks and a homemade cake from Flora
✮ BUSINESS ENTERPRISES ✮
#3
Quest Rank: ✮ ✮
Description: Some of the profits of Mandragora go to Seelie-supported causes with natives in mind, like relief efforts and general betterment. More profits means more support, and so a means to make more profits is necessary. The owners of the winery and garden are looking to expand into Treun to accomplish this, but need an intermediary. Talk to anyone involved with trade and business there to broker agreements. Even if it's on a small scale, a start's a start.
Requirements: Either threaded or written as a narrative, submit a minimum of 3k words of your character completing the objective. You must interact with at least one PC.
Reward: A case of Mandragora's finest wines, Treun officials will be a little more willing to do business, fifty gold pieces, and a very durable, ornate, magical writing quill that can double as a weapon if need be. The ink can be used to put an opponent to sleep, but won't work on the owner if they get their blood on it and cast a spell beforehand.
✮ SISTERHOOD OF NYMPHS ✮
#4 Claimed by
grandsun
Availability: Unlimited
Quest Rank: ✮
Description: The dryads have suffered agony after agony with heavy losses to their numbers, as well as other abuses. Even if the world may be ending, it is only natural for things to want to live and thrive their best until the end. Plant some flowers and new trees (provided by Flora) in the Greenwood for them, and pamper some of their own.
Requirements: Either threaded or written as a narrative, submit a minimum of 1.5k words of your character completing the objective.
Reward: A pin made of a real, magical iris that will never wilt, as a token of good standing with the dryads. They are shyer by nature, but will be more willing to help with some favours out of their gratitude. Fifty gold pieces will also be awarded from Flora. Also a cake she'll make herself.
QUEST NOTES
What star level should I apply for? Apply for a quest of the rank you are at or lower. For example, if you are not the influence roster, then you are at one star and may take one star quests. If you have two stars, you may take two or one star quests. Three stars may take three, two, or one star quests, and so on.
★ 1.5k words minimum, these tasks should be straightforward, either publicly visible, or politically or martially notable. Good examples of 1 star quests would be slaying significant monsters, meeting with public officials, visibly assisting communities, leading soldiers on small missions, etc.
★★ 3k words minimum, these tasks should be less straightforward, clearly challenging a character’s skills, and facilitating introspection on the task at hand. Moral ambiguity, problem solving and creative thinking should ideally be showcased in 2 star quests; 2 star quests should also require interfacing with other PCs. Good examples of 2 star quests would be things like meeting with multiple trade officials, using bribes, threats, or other means to negotiate trade agreements with local officials; training a group of elite soldiers and then leading an inaugural strike; researching strange enemies to then subdue or destroy them; significant spy operations.
★★★ 4.5k words minimum, these tasks should involve visible leadership, perhaps even requiring the management of individuals on smaller quests or assistance requests to several members of their cr, and should always involve conflict with other PCs. A certain failure rate should be expected of individuals on 3 star quests, and here you should coordinate with other quest givers where possible to pit PCs against each other. These are the high-stakes quests, and good examples would be things like: leading significant incursions into enemy territory to take desired points, long journeys to multiple locations to steal, collect, and research ancient lore, negotiating political deals with city or regional lords and leaders despite great opposition. NOW AVAILABLE!

Quest Rank: ✮ ✮
Description: Leathann's economy is in dire straits with many of the wealthier people leaving. However, in so doing, they've created numerous buying opportunities with many businesses and homes for sale on the very cheap.
The island enjoys very good relations with Treun. Travel there and talk to business people to gain their interest and prove that investing in Leathann would very much be worthwhile, either financially or morally. Elle Crestmark, owner of Mandragora also donates part of her profits for Native causes. See what you can do to negotiate expanding Mandragora in Treun as well, since the more money she makes, the more money she can give.
Flora will provide proper letters and papers with the seal of the Citadel, as well as her personal one (we're getting all fancy and official up in here), to get the quester's foot in many doors. As well as money for business/travel/pleasure expenses. Call it a business vacation.
Requirements: Either threaded or written as a narrative, submit a minimum of 3k words of your character completing the objectives: convincing businessmen to invest in Leathann and negotiating/buying land for Mandragora. You must interact with at least one PC.
Reward: A large case of Mandragora's finest wines, Treun officials will be more willing to do business, fifty gold pieces, and a very durable, ornate, magical writing quill that can double as a weapon if need be. The ink can be used to put an opponent to sleep, but won't work on the owner if they get their blood on it and cast a spell beforehand.
